C71520has added iron and manganese for excellent corrosion and biofouling resistance in fresh and sea water. Alloys with nickel content higher than 90/10 copper-nickel have enhanced mechanical properties while still maintaining excellent corrosion resistance.
In clean seawater, the alloy can accept flow rates up to 2.2-2.5%/s. The maximum acceptable velocity in a brackish solution is up to 4m/s. The alloy avoids stress corrosion cracking and nickel removal at high temperatures. Therefore, the alloy has good corrosion resistance to clean or polluted seawater and Jiangwan water, and is widely used in seawater desalination, petrochemical plants, power stations and other heat exchangers.
C71500 (BFe30-1-1) nickel-copper is widely used in shipbuilding, petrochemical, electrical appliances, instruments, medical equipment, daily necessities, crafts and other fields because of its excellent corrosion resistance and easy to be formed, processed and welded in copper alloys. As a corrosion resistant structural component, it is also an important resistance and thermocouple alloy. It can play an important role in heavy water condenser, power station feed water heater and evaporator, ship cooling water circuit and sanitation facilities, ship fire sprinkler system, hydraulic and pneumatic pipelines and so on.
